Hey everyone, I hope you are doing well!

I’m popping in with my first ever blog post with a really quick and easy healthy snack, which I’ve called “Perfect prOATein Energy Balls” excuse my pun…. Nice and easy to remember though!

I want to use this blog as a place where I can mainly share healthy recipes, and if you know me I love trying to hit the 3 pillars of low cost, quick and easy, and good for you!

Maybe we should add in one more… and make it 4 pillars and add in TASTY!

Because if it’s not tasty, who’s going to eat it?

So right about now I should probably give you the recipe!

Recipe:

  • 2 cups of oats
  • 3/4 cup of honey
  • 1 cup of peanut butter
  • 1 cup of ground flaxseeds
  • 1 cup of flavoured protein powder (I chose cookies and cream flavour)
  • 1 cup of pumpkin seeds (I used my nuts and seeds mix from a jar)
  • 1/2 cup of barberries (can use raisins or chocolate chips)

Mix it all together into round balls!

Top tip: make sure you really mix the peanut butter and honey evenly throughout the mixture!

I’ll be including this healthy snack regularly in my diet as it gives you a boost of energy and a hit of protein when you need it

The recipe can be manipulated however you wanted to change it e.g. the type of honey you buy, or if you prefer smooth or crunchy peanut butter, or as mentioned above swapping in choc chips and/or raisins.

You could make these proatein balls without protein powder, but the macronutrients will become more carb-heavy (especially if you go with choc chips) so keep that in mind if you are looking for simply a healthy snack or a high protein healthy snack.

If you do end up making this recipe please let me know how it went, you can find me on Facebook or Instagram @sugaisensei or email me your version of the recipe at sugaisensei@gmail.com I’m looking forward to it!

Sending you all my love and good vibes for the new season ahead!
